Body rigidity of Saab 99's compared to c900's

Postby htv2000 » Sun Oct 21, 2007 2:38 pm

I'm aware that C900's, especially the hatchback versions, suffer from a noticable amount of body flex due to their length, weight and the lack of a fixed structural member between the C pillar area.

Does the Saab 99 body have similar rigidity issues or does the smaller size/weight overcome this potential problem?

Craig.
Craig in his 'Heavy Test Vehicle' hat! lol There's a Fraction too much Friction yeah! 8-) Say no to commercially-driven sponsorships.

Having thought about this some more, I suppose 99's are more rigid since they're smaller, and still have a lot of the same structural design elements as the classic 900's.

I guess this is why 99 turbo's are still really popular rallying cars.
Craig's 'Saab 99 Appreciation Society' hat is on whever I post under this username!
Tending to like the older Saab 99's and C900's - time-proven and battle-scarred but in the spirit of true marquesmanship they keep on keeping on.
